After deciding on plans for Wednesday, we split up (with a group hug) and the five of us (Rav, Lal, Play, PR, me) headed off to PR's place. There was a brief delay as I searched for my ticket again (xD) and then we later realised we could have got a train straight there. Sang the Llama Song at Waterloo Station whilst waiting for the tube to arrive, much to the amusement of everyone passing by or unfamiliar (
This is the Llama song). At PR's house we had lots of pizza (mmmm) and played Guitar Hero until 3.30 in the morning, which was great. I didn't play too much since I was the one who brought the game (and so had played it many times before) and PR didn't have many turns since she had a nap halfway through (after bringing five duvets up to the loft, she promptly curled up in all five).
Arranged everything so that everyone had somewhere to sleep, and set alarms for 10am only to be woken up at 9 by drilling outside. Play, PR and I went downstairs to have cereal then went back up to get cake ingredients, to find Rav and Lal in the same positions they were in when we left. Made cupcakes - well, play made cupcakes and the rest of us took turns surpervising (because really, when your nickname is Pyro we cannot leave you alone in the kitchen). Decorated them lovingly with icing and fish patterns, and played Guitar Hero a bit more (completed all of Easy mode, woo!) before leaving the house, my giant bag in tow.
On the way to the meet up, we stopped by Burger King (yum) and passed an extremely random musical chair. We met up with the others outside Foyles bookshop, where the deckchairs outside from the day before were no longer occupied. So, of course, we had the picnic there! There was TDL in the window, it was fate! There was also an outdoor book market on the same street, which we made a mental note to come back to later.
( Musical Chairs, Fish Cupcakes and Bookshop Picnics )We stayed there for about an hour whilst finding out where Evenine and Emily were, then headed off to IMAX for Harry Potter. Lal, Rav and I sang random 90s pop songs on the way there, then switched to Elephant Love Medley and Your Song. We were so busy singing that we missed a turning and lost track of the others. They weren't worried though, they heard us coming! At IMAX, we convinced random strangers to join us.
Helpful ticket lady: Sorry, none of your student IDs are valid except for Rav's.
Rav: My unofficial-looking, laminated bit of paper with my name on it counts and gets me a cheap ticket. Win!
Fishes: *thinking* Well, not counting Rav there are eight of us. How many do we need for a group ticket?
Helpful ticket lady: Ten.
Fishes: Dammit. *turn around, to see two random strangers waiting behind us* HI! What film are you seeing?
Random Strangers: Uh, Harry Potter...
Fishes: JOIN US! You get cheaper tickets!
Random Strangers: *look at our earnest, hyper faces, then look at the demon marks around all our necks* ...do we have to sit with you?
Fishes: Nope!
Random Strangers: Okay!
The movie was made extremely awesome by the 3D, although it was only for the first 12 minutes (mainly 3D bridge collapsing and swishy Dementors, plus the hottest 3D waitress in the world). We all yelled out to each other "ALCOVE OF WOE!" and "RUFFLES BANGS OF MISERY!" at appropriate moments. Left the cinema loudly discussing slashy moments - there is a scene between Snape and Dumbledore that, when taken out of context, honestly sounds like they are breaking up (Harry is the rebound).
Went to the book market, where we found many fun books, including one about Harry Potter. Van bought a dodgy bad erotica book (that, admittedly, looked very cute - it was small and in baby pink!) where the main character sounded suspiciously like PR (the strap on her left shoulder was always falling down...) and we found a book called "Quality of Mercy".
Wandered along the Thames to see the beach there, where two performers wearing kilts had built a large sand sofa and one of them was busking with a ukelele. After hearing a song about aliens we asked for a song about zombies. Sadly, he did not, but he sang a song about killing instead and switched to guitar. Quote from Lal: "We were like sidebar entertainment". This is why:
Busker: Knock knock.
Audience: ...
Fishes: Who's there?
Busker: Europe.
Fishes: Europe wh- oh.
Busker: *triumphant* No, you're a poo!
Busker: Do you want to hear a rude song?
Audience: Uhh...
Fishes: WE DO!
Busker: *sings rude song with lyrics along the lines of "Put that paper bag on your face, and I'll do you anyway"*
Fishes: *cheer wildly, give money, and prepare to leave*
Busker: Do you want to hear a ruder one?
Fishes: *abruptly stop preparing to leave* YES, YES WE DO.
Busker: *looks around in case of small children* Okay, everyone, you know who to blame, it's those girls over there.
Fishes: WE BLAME LAL!
Busker: *laughs* If you're easily offended, leave now. This song is about your mom. *sings song that is Very Rude Indeed*
Boo: *records*
( Buskers in Kilts and a Sand Sofa )I will upload the clip at some point, because explaining it is... difficult, and extremely Not Safe For Work, it's better to hear it for yourself. Anyone know how to make video files smaller? It is a ridiculous size. Maybe change the file type? Or convert it into audio?
We were quite tempted to stay but coaches and trains and whatnot were leaving and we had to get home, so we walked back to the nearest station (Rav and I sung many songs from Avenue Q during the journey). Finished with a massive group hug, and then a pendant hug, before PR (being an experienced Tube traveller) told each of us how to get to the right station.
Epilogue of sorts: Results day was Thursday. Isi, PR and I had been incredibly worried, despite the picnic being the best distraction in the world - we are all at the end of school and heading off to uni. We all got into our first choice! :D
All the pictures I took are on Photobucket are
here. There will hopefully be many albums cropping up later - I know Lal was taking pictures and Van has posted some of hers up already.
